Casa Antiga do Monte is a lovely stone house close to the Pilgrim town of Santiago de Compostela. The building is a blend of typical Galician architecture and modern design with wide balconies overlooking the gardens. This small charming hotel in La Coruña province is graciously furnished with wooden and iron furniture, original paintings done by a local friend and carefully chosen fabrics. It has retained a typical "Horreo" dating from the 18th century (where crops were dried and stored). In the spacious lounge there is a traditional lareira, that huge (inglenook) fireplace large enough to seat a whole family around during cold winter. Today guests are seated there for breakfast. In the warmer months you can dine out in a lovely outdoor dining area. A high waterfall runs down artificial rocks in one of the two gardens in the hotel. A swimming pool and gym are currently being built for guest use. Business hours of reception: On business days: from 09:00 to 09:00 On the weekend: from 09:00 to 23:00 .
