The team at Camping and Pension Au on the Danube offers unconventional and imaginative overnight accommodation all year around at the gates on the cultural metropolis of Linz, directly on the Austrian-Bavarian long distance hiking trail the Donausteig and on the international Danube cycle path R1 (Eurovelo 6) Passau – Vienna. Here you can chose between cosy, individually furnished guest rooms, a roomy apartment or a well-equipped holiday apartment in the pension, that is situated around 300 meters from the campsite or, from April to October also very special sleeping quarters in a wooden tent or in the sleeping barrel directly on the campsite. The pension is a stylishly renovated and historical farm house. The beautifully planted and park-like grounds of the small and very personally managed campsite grounds extend like an island along a natural pond underneath the Danube dam. There is a small breakfast if desired; served in the pension in winter and from April to October in the guest garden of the campsite, with a heavenly view of the Danube. This is where numerous cultural events take place on the campsite’s own culture stage. The guest garden is, always in a contemplative and quiet atmosphere, a well-loved meeting point of nature and culture, travellers and residents as well as cyclists and boaters. The comprehensive service and experiential facilities of the campsite and the adjacent leisure and port facility can also be used by all guests of the pension. From a stay of two nights all guests receive a free regional “Schatz.Card” on arrival, together with an informative experience flyer with various discounts. More than 40 partners from the sectors of museums & culture, excursions & nature as well as sport & leisure offer a wide range of varied holiday activities for big and small.
