This small charming hotel is set in Briñas, La Rioja, a village close to the province of Alava and is reminiscent of its aristocratic roots surrounded by solid stone houses, interesting squares and 16th century churches. Among these houses a superb 13th century palace stands out. It was used during the Spanish civil war as the Headquarter for the Italian troops and today hosts a lovely hotel which still conserves the nobility and splendour of the past. Angela, the owner, has rescued the derelict building and carefully restored it. Architectural details, antique furniture, stone & ceramic floors and the artwork of the Polish painter Jull Dziamski add to its warmth and appeal. Hospederia Señorio de Briñas hotel could be described as a place of art, culture and relaxation. Guestrooms have lots of natural light and have the right combination of wall colours and textiles. A haven for those interested in the world of Rioja and a perfect base for visits to the famous wine cellars.
