The hotel Esteka Barcelona is a mediterranean-style building located in Sitges, in the Aiguadolc port area. It's close relation with art can be seen since the moment you step into the lobby. Joesph María Subirachs, a highly reputed artist who is working in the facade of the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, has converted this place into the scenario of the descent from the infinity to earth. Flights of steps, waterfalls and spheres make up this peculiar vision of the coming together of two dimensions. It all began in October 1993, when paintor Antonio Xaus decided to use the walls, the roof, the sheets and towels of the room 105 as another one of his canvases. The objective of this artistic provocation was to manifest the artist disconformitiers with "the lack of passion and joy in contemporary art". The hotel's manager was so motivated with teh project that terhe are now 9 "artis" rooms wich grant you oppprtunity of discovering the work of Quim Hereu, Josep María Subirachs, Josep Puigmartí, Paco Durán, Xesco Mercé, Grau Garriga, Marc Villalonga and Joan Irarte. These fantastic "artist" rooms and suites allow you to enjoy the luxury of dreaming in the midst or Art, a spectacular sea view and up to date technology.
