The Hotel San Lino, situated within the medieval walls of Volterra, was entirely housed in a former nunnery whose construction dates back to 1480. Transformed into a Hotel in 1982, maintains a certain mystic atmosphere of the original structure thanks to renovations which have helped to enhance its historic charm while bringing every comfort. The rooms overlook Via San Lino allow you to enjoy the view of one of the most picturesque medieval streets, which has become a must for the passage of processions for local historical and famous group of flag-waving of Volterra. The rooms that face the internal instead the opportunity to enjoy the view of the garden, dominated by the blue of the pool and the multi colored rose window of the tiny church of San Lino. In an adjacent building is the large garage on the ground floor are the reception, an Internet point, a small bar where you can order drinks to be consumed in the bar, in the restaurant or in the internal courtyard. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel. On the first floor there is access to the garden and sun terrace. Consisting of three rooms furnished in a simple but comfortable, the restaurant "I Papi" is available to anyone who wishes to organize dinners or lunches. In this aesthetic simplicity follows, however, a wide range of services. Superior rooms are located on the second and third floors, are decorated in a typical continental. Refined and elegant, tastefully furnished with attention to the smallest detail: furniture made of cherry wood, carpet, curtains. The high standard of the rooms is complimented by the numerous amenities that are found there. Not so far from the attractive Etruscan walls of Volterra, The Chiostro delle Monache is an ancient Franciscan convent, that was built together with the Church of San Girolamo in 1445 a.C. by the municipality and then assigned to the Franciscan order. Our aim is to propose a new idea of Hostel, closer to a low cost Hotel, perfect for families, study trip, business trips, groups, friends… Situated at only one km from Porta a Selci and the Etruscan Museum, this Hostel is situated in a quiet position, far from the city chaos and traffic, with the possibility to park the car free of charge. From her you can reach the most important cultural cities as Florence, Pisa, Lucca, Siena, San Gimignano and the seaside. Without structural barriers, this facility is well characterized by the internal marvelous cloister surrounded at the four sides by an open gallery, built respecting the drawing of Michelozzo (sculptor and architect in Donatello’s laboratory), where you can sit and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the ancient Franciscan Convent, just a good stop.
