Hotel Cirelli is located in an important area in central Italy, near the border of four regions and in-between cities like Rome and Naples. Winter resorts like Roccaraso, Campitello Matese, Pescasseroli, Prati di Mezzo and Forca d'Acero are very close, and if you are more a sea loving person the Tyrian coast can be reached in just about 30 minutes, with the beaches of Scauri, Formia, Gaeta, Sperlonga and Terracina. Just a few kilometres away from the hotel you can visit ancient Roman remains like the archeological area of Cassino with the Latin road, the Roman theatre which dates back to the Augustan age, the amphitheatre (1st century a. D.) ordered by the matron Ummidia Quadratilla, the Quadratilla mausoleum and the national museum, first opened in 1980, in which you can visit the remains of the acient latium adiectum, from prehistory to the Roman age. On the Janula hill there is the Rocca Janula, whose building was ordered by abbot Aligerno in the X century. From the top of the hill you can see the very well-known Montecassino Abbey, a symbol of peace amongst peoples, which has spread a message of hard work for a new moral, civil and religious change since the Middle Ages, a beacon for those Europeans who see Saint Benedict as their patron. Through the centuries there have been many fierce battles in this area, and Cassino was completely leveled by the murderous rage of World War Two. The Italian, English, Polish, German and French war cemeteries are touching evidence of the war. From 2005 the history and the memories of the martyrdom can be retraced by visiting the museum %Historiale%, created by the Academy Award winner Carlo Rambaldi. Today Cassino is a modern industrial city and a high level economic and cultural centre in the South of Lazio region, with the Fiat industrial site in Piedimonte San Germano and the Universty of Cassino.
