Residenza Porta Guelfa is a charming apartment hotel with numerous suites, situated in the Tuscan town of Bevagna. The buildings are painted in faint salmon, thus providing a cool retreat from Mediterranean heat. They are wonderfully embedded in green surroundings. All apartments feature a separate bedroom for 2 persons, a living room with kitchenette, as well as a fully-equipped bathroom. They offer all the comforts and are decorated in traditional Umbrian country-house style with mahogany wood, beautiful colours and tiled floors. The suites on the ground floor open out onto the terrace, whereas the apartments on the upper floors provide a private balcony. We do not offer an on site restaurant, as our restaurant is within the walls of the exquisite medieval town of Bevagna. There is also a fully-equipped kitchenette within each suite which enables self-catering. The hotel is within 10 minutes walking distance of the centre of Bevangna, an enchanting, traditional Umbrian town. Here you can enjoy a rural ambience, excellent local cuisine and regional wines, of course. Guests can furthermore dispose of a small spa with jacuzzi tub and a beautifully tiled steam room or a wonderful massage in the comfort of your own suite. Casa Cantone was for centuries an independent village, with his own church, school and bakery. Having been completely renovated maintaining it’ own original character it is a perfect place to pass a peaceful and relaxing holiday, with the opportunity of visiting in the nearby vicinity famous artistically villages like Assisi, Gubbio, Spoleto, Todi and Perugia. All the rooms are furnished with furniture from the 19 century. Country House Casa Cantone also offers the possibility to enjoy a dinner based on the typical Umbrian kitchen. On the cultural side our cook gives 3-day cooking courses which demonstrate the typical dishes of our area. A visit to one wine cellars offers a chance to taste the famous wines typical of this area like the "sagrantino", "rosso di Montefalco" and "grechetto"; equally interesting is a visit to our local olive oil press when you can follow the whole process of making oil. Our sporting activities include the use of our bicycles and the private swimming pool. We can also go for long walks in the beautiful surrounding country-side or organise horse- riding in a nearby riding school. The church situated in the village allows you to celebrate all kind of occasion like weddings and so on.
