Business hours of reception: from 07:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. The newly-built Hotel beim Hirschen is located in the village centre of Merzhausen, right in front of the gates of Freiburg. You will be accommodated in contemporary, cosy surroundings in the personally and individually decorated rooms, spacious and comfortable, almost like home. The hotel comprises 18 rooms (some of which are disability friendly) and 6 apartments. Each accommodation unit features a balcony and comes with a generous bathroom with shower and WC, cable TV and telephone. A conference room for 56 persons, fitted with conferencing technology, is also at guests’ disposal. The restaurant serves Badian specialities with fresh ingredients from local farmers, gardeners and vinters. On warm summer evenings the wine tastes especially good under the secluded vine-covered roof of the Hirschen garden, one of the most beautiful beer gardens in the Badian countryside. Bright, airy, Mediterranean flair – that’s our cafe and restaurant. A wide choice of breakfast dishes awaits you here. Here you can also enjoy a light midday meal, away from the hustle and bustle of town. When the sun shines, homemade cakes on the spacious terrace are a real treat for the tastebuds. Public transport will take you into the city centre. After a 10-minute ride you are right in the heart of the city’s bustling action. A lively cultural scene with theatres, concerts and exhibitions awaits you. The picturesque centre is just perfect for browsing and shopping. We are a small and cosy hotel just a few minutes drive from Freiburg city center. We offer our guests 10 non-smoking rooms, free parking and free WLAN. Pets are very welcome. In our restaurant or on our terrace you can enjoy a delicious meal and local wines. We are perfectly located for several excursions to the Black Forest, Hexental, Markgräflerland, to Freiburg city or even to Switzerland or France. We would love to help you renting a bike or e-bike for nice trips through our beautiful area and landscape. If you are looking for a personal and comfortable stay outside the city, you will be more than satisfied with our little place called "Grüner Baum".
