Ladies and gentlemen, We would like to take this opportunity to give you a brief history and some information about our hotel. In 1970, as young newlyweds, we took over the small family business. It was a restaurant called “Ratsstube” which had previously been excellently run by, Leni Thomas, our mother. After 10 successful years our dream of building and running our own hotel came true. On the 10th October 1980 with 12 bedrooms and the name “Gästehaus Jakob” we proudly opened for business. Over the years we have invested a lot of love and dedication to bring the hotel to its present standing. So now, with the support of our son Ingo Jakob, we are able to present you with a “matured to perfection” 3 star hotel which caters for your every need. As the last building nestling on the edge of the vineyards we can offer a dreamlike location. Which through its stunning views and tranquillity will certainly capture your heart. Our hotel We now offer 40 spacious well equipped rooms in the following categories standard, comfort, comfort+. There are also a range of suites available each individually designed. One which is fitted with a small conference area and a guest bathroom. Two of our suites include a jacuzzi and have spectacular panoramic views. We have also suites that are able to be used as family rooms. Cafe/restaurant „Esprit“ Monday to Saturday we are open from 2.00 PM and offer a choice of cakes, gateaux and a selection of snacks. Evening dinner is served from 6.00 PM. In addition to our à-la-carte range, we offer a 3-course menu of the day for € 9.90. Our menu is available in English. The restaurant is open at least until 10.00 PM, but we are always happy to stay on longer. On Sundays we are open from 2.00 PM until 6.00 PM only. Also specially selected Umstadt wines, draught beer and delicious cocktails can be enjoyed either in our modern bar or on the selected patio. Conference and function room „Regent“ This beautiful room, approx. 70m², is fitted with state of the art equipment for conferences and seminars. In addition it has a charm and elegance suitable for every kind of private event or special occasion. Physiotherapy and wellness Let us spoil you and your guests in our small “wellness oasis”. There you can enjoy our sauna or just take time to mind down and relax. Various beauty treatments and massages are also available if required. However, we request that these be pre-booked in advance. Culinary greetings from the kitchen All kinds of imaginative specialities, including eclectic vegetarian dishes, are available in our high-quality restaurant. Where you will stay In case you have any unfinished business that you need to take care of, you can simply use the desk found in your room. On a rainy day you can take advantage of your in-room entertainment. Satellite TV sets are available in all of the rooms. You will enjoy the internet TV found in your room. The international newspapers available in each and every room are a real favourite among our visitors. Our hotel supplies those staying here with their own hand-held blow-dryer, minibar filled with a wide-ranging selection of beverages and kettle for preparing a cup of coffee in the morning that are included in each room. While relaxing in your room you can turn on the radio and listen to some music. Bathrooms in this hotel come with windows. Bathrooms feature a shower, a bathtub and a hairdryer. In your room's bathroom you will find a shower as well as heated towel bars. A hair-dryer and make-up mirror are provided as well. You will also find a TV in the bathroom.
