Some hotels have a fantastic location and Solar da Magoito is definitely one of them at just half an hour from Lisbon, ten minutes from Sintra and twenty minutes from Cascais. Furthermore the hotel is just 2km from Magoito beach and ten minutes by car heading south from Playa Grande, where international bodyboard and surf championships are held. This charming hotel has just six guest rooms which combine traditional Portuguese decorative tilework with state of the art design of the Portugal we know today. Manuel and his family have skillfully chosen decorative tiles, stained glass windows and hydraulic floor tiling for the lounges, dining room and one or two guest rooms in the main building. Vanguard design has been chosen for the bathrooms and in one bathroom there is a glass floor through which you can view the house´s former well. In one of the suites in the garden the horse manger of the former livestock farm has been restored and used as a decorative feature. There are four guest rooms in the main house and two separate suites in the garden making the most of the old farm buildings. A swimming pool, tennis court, billiard table and table tennis and children´s play area complete the facilities. On the estate there are olive trees, almond trees, fig trees, pear trees and other Mediterranean and Atlantic vegetation.
