“Moditlo” means place of the elephant and the spirit of this unique and gentle animal echoes the extraordinary experience that awaits you when entering the thirty six thousand acre Private Blue Canyon Conservancy, just 16 kilometres outside of Hoedspruit adjacent to the world renowned Greater Kruger National Park. The brand new ultra luxurious 16 bedroom lodge, is built in a very modern contemporary style, yet it resembles traditional bush living and offers guests a private retreat, hidden away in the African bush where man and Big 5 meet…. Moditlo River Lodge runs a children’s program with dedicated child-minders for complete peace of mind while you relax on the pool deck or enjoy a mud bath before being pampered by our trained masseurs. The Njala, our state of the art fine dining restaurant overlooks the Nbesi River, and it is here where guests can enjoy the best cuisine and wine that Africa has on offer. Our hosts will also introduce guests to traditional bush barbeques (braai’s) while local tribes dance and sing the night away…. The Game drives on our brand new Luxury Toyota Land Cruisers, conducted by our passionate and experienced nature guides, will not only introduce guests to the African wildlife but will send you home with an in depth knowledge of the trees, birds and animals, that roam this very unique part of the world. Cell phone reception can be enjoyed at the Lodge. Signal strength vary between the different networks. We welcome children of all ages. A child aged between and including 2 - 11 years sharing a room with two full paying adults, will pay 50 % of the per person sharing rate. Children over 12 years of age pay the full adult rate. Children in their own room will pay the standard adult rates. Day Excursions: Not included in daily rate and must be booked a day in advance.
