Petrata Castle, an ancient 14th century fortress and its annexed chapel, nestles in the midst of gentle hills on a quiet and sunny plain, 600 metres above sea level and only 6 km from Assisi. Its position of dominance in the surrounding countryside, allows it an wide panoramic view of Assisi and the Umbrian valley. Thoroughly renovated and elegantly furnished, Petrata castle is surrounded by a park of 20 hectares, in which secret romantic corners nestle among the orchards, woods, olive groves and green meadows. In the shade cast by the trees, your walks will be accompanied by the perfume of aromatic herbs and flowers. The castle offers 2 suites, 5 Junior Suites and 16 Standard Rooms, with beams, wooden trusses and bare stone walls, each one uniquely decorated with period furniture and precious fabrics. From every room you can throw open the window onto the open countryside, feel the freshness of the morning dew and hear the birds chirping. The swimming pool is set among natural rocks and rich vegetation and from its solarium you can admire an extraordinary view. In the elegant and refined restaurant you can try typical specialities of traditional Umbrian cooking, such as homemade bread, pasta and desserts made with carefully selected natural produce. The menu lends particular attention to vegetarian cooking, and offers a wide selection of regional and national wines. The location is particularly suitable for the organisation of special occasions such as weddings, themed dinners, anniversaries etc. The wellness centre is exclusively for the use of couples, guaranteeing the utmost privacy and peace and is able to offer guests a sense of multisensory wellbeing. The Sauna, Hammam, Jucuzzi, Emotional paths, Kneipp and Relaxation room are reserved for the exclusive use of our guests during the entire cycle, and to cheer them, relaxing herbal teas will be offered... we will take care of you with massage and special treatments to bring body and mind back into balance in a trully unique environment.
