Farmhouse Il Portone, in Borgo San Martino, is set on the green hills of Abbateggio, in the heart of the Majella National Park. It is surrounded by a vast and interesting panorama embracing the Mount Majella, the beautiful hills and the Adriatic sea. Farmhouse Il Portone offers rooms with private terrace overlooking the Mount Majella. Wi-Fi and parking are free. Each room, with en suite bathroom, has antique period furniture, skilfully renovated. Sheets, blankets, towels and curtains in pure linen and cotton, are the results of careful, detailed sewing and embroidery in total respect of ancestral traditions. Every space has been renovated without betraying the original style; vaulted roofs with beams and old stone walls offer visitors a warm atmosphere rich in history. Breakfast is served on the outdoor terrace in the summer, overlooking the Mount Majella. In the two welcoming dining-rooms guests can taste the typical dishes using produce from our own working farm. The living room, with its imposing chimney made of stone, offers all the guests a relaxing and pleasant stay. For winter sports, the ‘Maielletta’ skiing resort is only a few minutes away. The surrounding territory is excellent for cultural visits and nature trails.
