The Smeraldo Hotel is located close to the tourist center of Cala Gonone, 400 meters from the beach and 1 km from the village. It is situated in the uncontaminated vegetation between the oleander and the spectacular Sardinian rocks, in a quiet area for relaxing and looks towards the sea-clear emerald water. Equipped with all the comforts for a pleasant holiday, with swimming pool for adults and children, solarium and garden with amble grove, indoor and outdoor playground for children, bowling alley and table tennis. Football pitch, tennis court and go-karts are 1.5 km away. It has 53 spacious and comfortable rooms equipped with all comforts (TV, fridge and indipendent air conditioning), some with balcony sea view, others overlooking the pool or garden view. The rooms can be single’s, double’s/twin’s, with third, fourth and fifth bed as there aree very large rooms. Some with special features for disabled. Snack bar with a large terrace overlooking the pool is ideal to enjoy drinks cold and hot snacks. The hotel organizes excursions to explore the famous bays of the Gulf of Orosei, such as Cala Luna, Cala Mariolu, Cala Sisine, Cala Goloritzè and Bue Marino caves (last refuge of the monk seal). The nearby inland is rich of natural and archaeological sites such as the canyon Gorroppu (among the largest in Europe), Tiscali nuragic ruins hidden in the mountain, Serra Orrios the second largest nuragic village of Sardinia, the cave of Ispinigoli with the tallest stalagmite of Europe. In addition, visits to the rich of culture villages of Dorgali, famous for its handicrafts, filigree works and local food and wine. Oliena and Orgosolo are two well known inland villages that still keep alive the ancient traditions of Barbagia region with various folk and religious festivals throughout the year. The murals painted on the walls of the houses attract many visitors throughout the year.
