S. Cristovao Monastery was founded in the 12th century. It was built in its present form in the ends of 17th century. The beautiful Tuscan style cloister and the conventual church (now parish church), with its splendid architecture and fine paintings, merit your visit. Available are 8 rooms: a suite (T1) with kitchnette, five double rooms and a independent house (Casa dos Conversos) with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, living and dinner room and a complete kitchen. A small bar at the reception, living and breakfast rooms, an outdoor swimming pool and gardens are at your disposition. The Monastery is built on a small promontory overlooking the river Varoso. Around the Monastery, a wood invite you for a walk or may descend a steep incline and reach the "Poco do Mourao", a natural pool of cristal-clear water, fed by a natural waterfall, and have great fun swimming and diving in it. The Mosteiro of S. Cristovao de Lafoes is located in the center of Portugal (Beiras), in the neighborhood of Oliveira de Fades and S. Pedro do Sul, in the district of Viseu. A former Cistercian Monastery, of cultural, historical and arquitectural value, if offers its guest comfort and a relaxed atmosphere. The beautiful landscape of the Lafoes region, the short distances to center of turistic interest (the Spa of S.
