All suites all air-conditioned and feature unique antique romantic 4-poster canopied beds giving a feeling of relaxed grandeur. All of them have spacious shaded verandas for private dining and antique Indian swings, which overlook the verdant gardens and views of the sparkling blue Indian Ocean. The furniture is a combination of antique pieces and contemporary items based on furniture as used by members of the East India Company. The highly decorated antique Calcutta 4 poster beds were used during the British Raj and these, together with the antique electric fans and ceiling fixed punkah fans, enhance the Colonial style. Every suite features enormous bedrooms and lavish bathrooms with kumbuk timber floor and soaring ceilings lined with kerala ceiling tiles that give a feeling of relaxed grandeur. The bathrooms are enormous with rain showers and Venetian style mirrors. The twin basins, the deepest of handmade granite bathtubs and granite shower screens are a testament of Indian craftmanship. Private yoga tuition is available on request. Excursions to Pinawella Elephant Orphanage and the Kosgoda Turtle Sanctuary are always popular as are excursions to Galle Fort and beyond. Our Champagne Bar in the Main House offers a wide selection of Champagnes as well as a lovely selection of exotic tropical cocktails.
