THE MANSION Mansion Dandi Royal, is the first tango themed Boutique Hotel in San Telmo, heart of Buenos Aires city, Argentina. Unique in its artistic presentation of the tango ambience The Mansion History The Argentinean bourgeoisie high society of early 1900, who used to lived in mid town Buenos Aires, was accustomed to the refinements of European life style, developing the eclecticism , and turning away from the traditional Spanish colonial architectural style. Building mansion with spectacular fronts and small inside patios, and an esthetically admirable Art Nouveaux decoration. The construction of the building today known as Mansion Dandi Royal in San Telmo's neighborhood, began in those days. The Obras Sanitarias Argentina blueprints are dated in 1913, when the water system in Buenos Aires was still in British hands. The manufacturing date stamped on the doors locks and handles is 1889, from which we can assume that the idea to build the Mansion greatly preceded its actual construction. Originally built by the Argentinean engineer Bianchi, based on the designs by architect Christophersen, the Mansion, converted today in an exclusive Boutique Hotel, its organized around two interior patios, with two floors facing the front, and four floors facing the back. The first floor is occupied by the Dandi Saloon, and up the marble stairwell, the reception opens. The remaining three floors hold our exclusive bedrooms and thematic suites with Jacuzzi, and spectacular accommodations such us swimming pool, solarium, computers room, gym, private living rooms, and more. .The walls had been decorated with tango murals creation of the great Pinter and artist Abel Jorge Magnani. In the year 2000 Dandi Tango Academy began negotiations to acquire this beautiful residence, in order to fulfill our director's Hector Villalba dream of creating something never seen in lodging and tango teaching for foreign and argentine tango lovers. With the help of his dearest friend Osvaldo Donato, a renowned Argentinean architect, the renovation began. The world famous painter Abel Jorge Magnani had participated in the decoration of this magnificent hotel embellishing all its rooms and common spaces with amazing period murals. In 2005 the Hotel new east wing is acquired. Its restoration ended in 2006, taking the total room number to 30. The new addition is connected and maintain the original decoration and architectural characteristics of the original building, although it was constructed in 1925. Due to this similarities it is believed that they once constituted a single property, which was constructed in two stages over the course of 20 years. The mansion is organized around an inside patio, which provides natural daylight to all public areas of the hotel through its steel framed glass ceiling.
