The Pestana Miramar is one of the most charismatic hotels in Madeira, its construction being based around a manor house of the 1920s. The new buildings were constructed in a rustic style, surrounded by tropical gardens of about 5000 m2. Due to its proximity to other Grupo Pestana's Hotels, particularly the Pestana Village and the Pestana Carlton Madeira, there are shared services. Access to the beach is from the Pestana Carlton swimming pool, and guests may use the health club of the Pestana Village, with gymnasium, sauna, Turkish bath and Jacuzzi. There are also 2 outdoor pools with a fantastic view. There are five restaurants with varied cuisines and themes, and three bars for lighter meals. For the children there is also a Game Room and the giant outdoor chess board. The Pestana Miramar Aparthotel has 45 studio flats, 9 junior suites, both types equipped with kitchenette, air conditioning and private bath with bathtub, and 4 executive suites located in the Quinta Miramar. The Pestana Miramar Aparthotel is only a 15-minute walk to the centre of the city and about 20 minutes by car to the Funchal International Airport.
